Land Sailor is an oxymoron of sorts

Most of us would think that anything with a sail belongs on a body of water, such as a lake, river, and where it is most at home, at sea. Of course, if you were to stretch your imagination a little bit more, the world of science fiction has seen some pretty weird spaceship designs, like Count Dooku’s solar sailer that we saw at the end of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. How about a vehicle that has a sail, and yet runs around on land? This is what the $899.95 Land Sailor is all about, being a three-wheeled craft which will harness the wind’s power for speeds of up to 25 mph. With the Land Sailor, rank amateurs are able to sail effortlessly on land, as long as those areas are open, flat surfaces, and one does not even need any prior sailing experience to get going. You might think that setting up the Land Sailor is a chore, but it can be easily broken down into a quartet of 4′ long bags which will then fit into a car’s trunk easily, and hence, assembling it is just as quick and painless. The 35 1/2′ sq. sail is made of Dacron, which is the very same material that is used by nautical vessels, where it will need to slip over the mast, being attached to the boom for a speedy set up. A trio of corrosion-resistant wheels alongside nylon rims and stainless steel bearings would allow your feet to steer the craft by guiding the 12″ front wheel, so that your hands will be able to manage the sail and operate the hand brake.
