how to kick a soccer ball far

Instructions

    • Position yourself a yard behind the soccer ball. Your kicking leg should be about a foot behind your support leg.

Step forward on your support foot and plant it parallel with the ball.

    • Raise your kicking leg behind your body. The farther your kicking leg moves behind your body, the farther the soccer ball will travel because of the extra force in the kick. It's a lot like a slingshot; the farther back the elastic stretches, the greater distance the slingshot will propel the object inside.

As your back leg powers forward toward the ball, keep your other knee slightly bent so you can stay balanced while following through after the kick.

Keep your kicking foot's ankle locked so it firmly strikes the ball. If the ankle is loose, the force will be absorbed by the ankle and the ball will not travel as far.

Point your foot down. Your foot should be perpendicular with the playing field. This will ensure that you strike the ball squarely.

    • Strike the soccer ball on the bottom half of the soccer ball sphere. Striking the ball low lifts it in the air and propels it forward. Continue to allow your kicking leg to follow through until the knee straightens.
